About the Chef

I grew up in restaurants. From the pre-school student who watched quietly in the kitchen of the old Pine Tree Inn, to the young teenager who worked her way through high school doing virtually every front of the house job my mom would give me at the local Holiday Inns where she managed. Food has always played a pivotal role in making me who I am today.

For years I’ve fed whatever sports teams my children were on, cooked for crowds at church, entertained friends and family alike with new recipes and old favorites. I’ve had the opportunity to feed Pro ball players, traveling musicians and a host of international guests as well.

When our youngest child was finishing high school, I seized the opportunity to take my passion for food to the next level. I attended culinary classes through the Cuyahoga Community College; attending nights and weekends while holding down a day job wasn’t easy. I was determined and more excited than ever to be learning so many new things and enhancing the skills I already possessed.

While there I learned under some fabulous teachers and great Chef’s, from Chef Michelle Gaw, who ran the Watermark Restaurant in Cleveland for 18 years to Chef Ky Wong, most recently at Lucky’s Café in Tremont and Chef Tom Capretta who filled in all the blanks. Each of them helped me to hone the skills I had and learn many new techniques. By the time I finished, I had the confidence to step out on my own. Thus, Chef In Attendance was born.

In addition to my regular business, I have had the opportunity to teach class during the summer months in the beautiful community of Lakeside, Ohio at Marblehead on Lake Erie.

I hold a Serve Safe certificate showing that I am well versed in the proper handling and storage of food. I also earned my Personal Chef certification and am fully insured and registered to be doing business in the State of Ohio. I strive to use the freshest, most local products available to me. This gives my clients a great tasting meal and my local farmer and markets my business. Thanks for visiting my site, I hope you find something here that will encourage you to give our business a try.

About the name:

For  twenty years, I’ve had the privilege of serving the staff and students of North Royalton High School, my Alma Mater, as their Attendance Secretary, a job I still hold and love.
